How is farming to go forward in a sustainable way in post-Brexit Britain? Richard Betton, a hill farmer in the Yorkshire Dales, discusses issues in integrating food produciton with animal welfare and environmental standards. Much of the land he farms is based on peat - as is much of the fens.

For him, three aspects - environmental sustainability, food production and the skills and knowledge of the farmer - have to be held together with financial stability.
